Founded in Los Angeles in early 2025, and now also active with chapters in New York, Chicago, Long Beach, and right here in Nashville, rocknite is a showcase series that aims to connect exciting rising artists and passionate music fans with intimate, impressively curated, and totally free monthly shows. Since spreading to Music City last fall, rocknite has taken residence at East Nashville’s Skinny Dennis (where their next event is happening this Monday, June 8), with past showcases featuring favorites like Nordista Freeze, OTNES, NWilla Mae, Tayls, VEAUX, The Criticals, and more.
As the series continues to grow, rocknite hosted a SXSW showcase back in the spring in Austin, and will curate two very cool blocks of music next week at Bonnaroo, as part of the Outeroo programming in the campgrounds (we’ll be telling you more about that in the coming days). But, without a doubt, the biggest and most impressive show they’ve hosted in Nashville yet is happening this Friday, June 5, at JBJ’s downtown: a massive, three-stage and nearly 30-artist bill, headed up by none other than Cage the Elephant! Also featuring a most local, alt rock skewing lineup of Dexter and The Moonrocks, Dogpark, Edgehill, Mod Sun, Flight Attendant, Connor Kelly & The Time Warp, New Translations, mercury, Kitty Coen, Pressure Heaven, and many more, the showcase keeps the rocknite spirit by being totally FREE (presented in partnership with SPIN), and is all ages before 6 p.m., and 21+ after. Music begins at 11:30 a.m. and will run nonstop for 12 hours, and even with RSVP, space is first-come, first-served, so you’re encouraged to arrive early. In addition to music, you can also expect photobooths, flash tattoos, food, drinks, and more immersive fan experiences throughout the multi-level venue. As an outlet that famously does not care about the mainstream country industry in town, there’s not much that could get us to Broadway during CMA week. But a free show this stacked, headed up by Cage? Yeah, that’ll do it. Preview the schedule below!
