Foo Fighters Play First Nashville Headliner in Eight Years, Tonight, Aug. 15 at Nissan Stadium with Queens of the Stone Age and Mannequin Pussy

Formed more than 30 years ago, in the wake of legendary grunge band Nirvana, by drummer-turned-frontman Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters have, across twelve albums, countless tours, and more pop culture permeation than we can list, long been one of alternative rock’s most lauded and dependable acts, finding relevance and new fandom across four separate decades, and remaining, at a time rock and roll has declined at the mainstream level, one of the genre’s last, best torchbearers. The Foos’ latest album, and first with new drummer Ilan Rubin, Your Favorite Toy, dropped back in the spring, and lands as perhaps the leanest, most powerful LP the band have made in years. In support, the iconic rockers have been touring the world all year, and are set to return to Nashville for their largest Music City headliner ever, tonight, Aug. 15 at Nissan Stadium! Surprisingly, given how active they are live, this will be Foo Fighters’ first proper Nashville headliner since 2018 (they’ve headlined Pilgrimage Fest and Bonnaroo since, and played a private corporate event at The Ryman a couple years ago, so Middle Tennessee has not been entirely without Foo).

Lending even more classic alt rock bona fides to the bill, Queens of the Stone Age, who also formed in Seattle around the same time as Foo Fighters, are serving as direct support. The Josh Homme-led outfit, who are set to release a new album this fall, have had a pretty active past few years, and delivered a very memorable show at Ascend Amphitheater in 2023, for their first Nashville outing in a decade. Like the Foos, their live show is high-energy, unpredictable, and something of legend, and they’re a great complement to the evening’s headliners. And, if that wasn’t enough fantastic rock for you, Philly punk outfit Mannequin Pussy are an incredible addition to this lineup as well, whose breakout 2024 fourth LP I Got Heaven remains one of the greatest albums of the decade so far. Needless to say, they’re more than worth braving the heat and showing up early to see. Tickets are not only still available, but surprisingly affordable, right here!

Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, and Mannequin Pussy perform tonight, Aug. 15 at Nissan Stadium. The show is all ages, begins at 5:30 p.m. (gates at 4 p.m.), and tickets are available from $52.
