The musical alias of artist and composer Marcus Hidalgo, Nashville’s toast makes cinematic, synthy, and ethereal alt and indie pop with a really lush, eclectic, and immersive ethos. Earlier this year, Hidalgo released his best work to date, a conceptual album called Dust & Feathers, and later this month, he’ll follow it up with another full-length- something of a thematic companion piece- called A Dance with Paper Birds. To celebrate his latest, toast is throwing a very special Halloween party and release show on Oct. 24 (the day after the album drops), billed as the “first and only” Nashville show he’ll play for this record, featuring a full live band performance, support from Casper Sage, a DJ set from Huron John, a pop-up shop from Rot Revive, free wine (and b.y.o.b. drinks), and an after-party to keep the spooky fun going late (costumes are also encouraged).
Hosted at a private residence (billed as “toast’s Haunted House”), you’ll still need to RSVP, and pay $15 for admission, as space will be limited (IDs will also be checked at the door). However, we’re excited to announce that we’re giving away tickets to a couple of lucky fans, for a chance to experience this very unique, super cool DIY show for free.
