One of the most beloved and celebrated hip hop DJs of the last 35 years, California’s DJ Shadow– born Josh Davis- sprung onto the scene in the ’90s with his layered, masterful, instrumental hip hop, going on to join electronic group Unkle for a few years that same decade, and eventually becoming an in-demand collaborator for artists like Run the Jewels, Nas, and De La Soul. Though he’s released numerous LPs over the decades- most recently 2023’s Action Adventure– as he’s settled into his well-deserved reputation as one of hip hop’s alt, experimental, independent greats, it’s still Shadow’s 1996 debut, Endtroducing….., that stands as perhaps his most groundbreaking, lauded, and signature work.
In celebration of that landmark record’s 30th anniversary, DJ Shadow is currently on tour in support, a run which returns him to Nashville Oct. 23 to headline Marathon Music Works, along with a stacked supporting lineup of Open Mike Eagle and Wick-It the Instigator! Tickets are still available right here while they last, but we’re thrilled to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan! Preview the legendary lineup, and enter below.
