Born and raised in London, multifaceted artist Suki Waterhouse is, in the true old Hollywood sense, a genuine triple threat, able to seamlessly move between the worlds of acting, music, and modeling with unrivaled expertise as she excels at each aspect of her craft. Modeling came first, when Waterhouse was discovered as a teen, soon working with top fashion brands around the world, and gracing the cover of prestigious magazines like Vogue and Marie Claire, eventually launching her own successful accessories brand, Pop & Suki, and making a foray into the world of photography. Acting came next, in the early 2010s, leading both to mainstream roles in high-profile films like The Divergent Series: Insurgent, Detective Pikachu, and hit Amazon show Daisy Jones & The Six, as well as more indie and arthouse fare like Pusher, The Bad Batch, and Assassination Nation (notably, Suki’s longtime partner and now-fiancé is also a successful actor who alternates between the indie and mainstream: Robert Pattinson).
By her mid-20s, having already found huge success in the worlds of modeling and acting, Waterhouse turned to her lifelong passion of music, beginning with 2016 single “Brutally.” Far from a Hollywood vanity project, Suki’s music is the real deal, and if music was the only vocation she ever pursued in entertainment, we have no doubt she’d be just as successful and highly regarded. After a series of singles over the years, through which she morphed from a more sparse, timeless, singer-songwriter-y early sound to a more layered, confident, shimmering, folk-informed indie rock, making her right at home alongside artists like Father John Misty, The War On Drugs, Bon Iver, or Lana Del Rey, Waterhouse dropped her long-awaited debut full-length, I Can’t Let Go, in 2022, met with positive reviews and catapulting her music career into a much more full-time focus. In 2024, Suki joined Taylor Swift as one of the opening acts on her massive Eras Tour, and released her sophomore LP, the more pop-rooted and vulnerable Memoir of a Sparklemuffin that same year (2024 is also when Waterhouse and Pattinson welcomed their first child together). In 2025, Suki moved from indie label Sub Pop to major label Island, and supported Laufey on her massive A Matter of Time Tour, and earlier this year, the recently prolific singer released her third album, Loveland.
A dreamy, retro fusion of indie pop and soft rock, Loveland is Waterhouse’s best, most honed and story-driven work to date, and in support, the singer is currently on the road for The Loveland Tour, which brings her back to Nashville for the fifth time in five years tonight, Oct. 14, to headline The Truth with alt-R&B singer Rochelle Jordan and alt-pop singer EMMMA! Though talented at each of her arts, music is a vehicle that allows Suki to be her most authentic and vulnerable, and her songwriting evokes a certain sincerity, melancholy, and earnestness that can’t be replicated when she’s embodying someone else’s character on screen, making this aspect of her artistic expression our favorite of all. Get tickets here and don’t miss out!
Suki Waterhouse, Rochelle Jordan, and EMMMA will perform tonight, Oct. 14 at The Truth. The show is all ages, begins at 8 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.), and tickets are available for $41.25-86.50.
