Some of our favorite local acts are releasing new music for us this weekend. Surf popsters *repeat repeat, worldly indie pop band El El, and synth pop group Ponychase have caused a lot of chatter over here during the past few months, and they are teaming up to throw a killer show at The Basement on Saturday night (9/7) for a “Singles In September” release party. Those of you who are true fans of the bands, or, just fans of Lightning 100, may have heard a sneak peek of the new singles on The 615 last night. If you didn’t get your first listen to *repeat repeat’s “History,” El El’s “Kiss Kiss,” or Ponychase’s “Parade Of Youth” already, then make sure you get to The Basement early. The first 75 people in the door will receive a compilation CD featuring the three singles. Tickets are only $5, and things get started at 9 p.m.
What? Words alone aren’t enough to make you mark your calendar? Check out the “Sexy Singles” teaser video by Seth Graves, after the jump. It will seal the deal for you.
