The lineups are already stacked for the upstart music festival in Gulf Shores, AL, but the promoters are looking for your help to pick one more band to round out this year’s Hangout Fest. Of the 10 finalists, The Ettes, The Future, and Josh Farrow each have the chance to represent Nashville. I know…

Hear the new single “Secret Game” from The Kingston Springs!
The Kingston Springs recently swung through New York, and visited Converse’s Rubber Tracks studio where they dropped off a new single titled “Secret Game” for all of us fans. It’s another solid output from the local rockers, whose 2012 debut self-titled LP, is still in constant rotation over here. Hopefully, this is just the…

[Review] Dick Dale at Mercy Lounge 4/30/13
Sometimes you miss one show that you are really excited to see, and you stumble upon something that you really needed to see. That is exactly what happened on Tuesday night at Mercy Lounge. Specifically, Dick Dale, the king of surf rock, happened. Everyone over the age of actually-reading-this knows the song “Misirlou”, though…

Sweat and polyester. Meeooow. I have a theory that the louder the music is–the tighter the pants get. What…

We flip through roots, rock, reggae, and some stuff a bit on the more eccentric side. Per usual, after the jump we have littered the site with players…

Vietnam w/ Kings Of The F**king Sea | The Stone Fox | Tonight In Nashville
It was serendipity that I’ve seen Vietnam already, and it’s dumb luck that I remember seeing Vietnam at all. Some folks at Mexican Summer sent over the New York band’s 2013 release An A.merican D.ream, so I was already familiar with the trippy nocturnal bluesy rock sound that would have Colonel Kurtz thinking twice…
