Bonnaroo 2026 Artist Spotlight: Snow Strippers

Bonnaroo Artist | Snow Strippers
Bonnaroo History | Newbie
Stage & Time | Saturday | This Tent | 2:00-2:45am

Like we’ve been doing for many years now, we’re making it our mission to help you get acquainted with many of our favorite acts from Bonnaroo‘s 2026 lineup. A pivotal year for the fest, this summer’s ‘Roo will see some significant changes after last year’s unfortunate rainout, including infrastructure improvements, a scaled-back capacity, and a smaller lineup (notably, cutting down Thursday’s programming the most). We’ll have to wait until we’re on the farm to feel the full extent of the changes and tweaks, but we’re cautiously optimistic that it will benefit the fest in the long-term, especially in helping make the site more resistant to weather. This will be Bonnaroo’s 23rd installment and 25th anniversary, and even with a more compact lineup, it packs a pretty stellar, eclectic slate of artists, per usual. Back once again in its dependable June 11-14 timeframe, we’re counting down the days until another great weekend on the farm.

As we dig through the entire schedule, we’ll highlight a spread of performers spanning across genres and stages, big and small, new and old, to bring you some of the most interesting, lesser-known, and most highly-recommended among this year’s crop of artists. And as our time at ‘Roo approaches, we’ll also be bringing you some special features and full list-style daily lineup guides, to help you plan your weekend ahead of the fest. While these previews won’t span every artist, and might omit some more obvious must-see acts, we hope they’ll serve as a way to help you navigate Bonnaroo’s gargantuan lineup, and to make the most of your busy weekend at the fest! Be sure to grab your tickets (available in weekend or single-day, with various upgrade levels and add-ons) and camping or parking pass (also available with a lot of flexible options and levels), and read on for our Bonnaroo Artist Spotlight!

If you’ve been following our Bonnaroo coverage for the last 15 years, you might’ve noticed that while the fest has become increasingly more EDM over the years (a trend which might’ve plateaued at the scene’s 2010s boom, but still has become deeply ingrained in the fest, with stages like The Other and Where- formerly Where in the Woods- essentially entirely devoted to the genre), it’s never been a huge part of our preview or review coverage. Admittedly, that’s simply a blind spot for us and not an indictment of the lineup, as the core of the No Country team tends to gravitate more towards pop, rock, indie, punk, hip hop, and the like. Still, we always check out every performer on the bill, and when something on the electronic side catches our ear, we love to spotlight, especially if you, like us, aren’t as steeped in EDM.

It should come as no surprise, then, that buzzy duo Snow Strippers blur the lines between EDM and electropop, channeling a visceral, eclectic sound that reminds us of Crystal Castles, but for a post-hyperpop era. Vocalist Tatiana Schwaninger and producer Graham Perez met initially through Tinder while living in Florida, and relocated to Los Angeles briefly (as Perez spent time as a hip hop producer) before ultimately landing in Detroit, where they formed Snow Strippers in 2021 (more recently, they appear to be based in New York). Initially a DIY endeavour, the pair were prolific out of the gate, self-releasing their debut mixtape, April Mixtape, in the spring of 2022, followed by their first album, The Snow Strippers, in the summer, and a follow-up mixtape, April Mixtape 2, that fall. Lumped in with the indie sleaze revival of the early 2020s, though more for their aesthetic than their sound (which, though definitely a callback to the 2000s and 2010s, isn’t particularly indie rock), the duo nabbed a record deal with New York’s Surf Gang as well as Diplo’s Mad Decent, ahead of 2023 third mixtape April Mixtape 3, which, thanks to its witch house, hyerpop, electroclash, and new rave elements and etherial pop accessibility, along with viral singles like “Under Your Spell,” helped them reach a much wider audience. Collabing with rapper Lil Uzi Vert that same year, Snow Strippers have swiftly become one of the buzziest new groups in the electronic space, and, ever prolific, two further EPs, Night Killaz Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, arrived in 2024, before the pair took a well-deserved rest from releasing new music in 2025. A 2 a.m. tent set is exactly the vibe we’re looking for for an artist like this, and if Snow Strippers haven’t yet landed on your radar- especially if you like your EDM to feel more like a band than a DJ- give this group a listen, and get ready for a wild, late-night party.
