Toronto-bred, Los Angeles-based artist Jutes first began cultivating his genre-bending fusion of metal, alternative, R&B, pop punk, and hip hop in the mid-2010s (more hip-hop-heavy to start, and more rock infused as the years have passed), eventually inking major label deal in 2020, and attracting buzz through a series of EPs and mixtapes. Traction really began picking up around 2023’s Ladybug and 2024’s Sleepyhead (he also, notably, married famed pop singer Demi Lovato around that time, attracting a whole new set of eyeballs), with last year’s Dilworth earning the singer a prestigious Juno Award nomination in his native Canada, and launching his most extensive tour to date (including a couple Nashville outings last year, at The End and at Cannery Hall’s Ceremony Fest).
Ever prolific, Jutes dropped his latest LP, Chin Up, Beautiful, last month, a dark, heavy self-described “futuristic, post-apocalyptic meditation on numbness, survival, and the quiet collapse of feeling in an overwhelming world.” Bleak, but timely, with a string of recent visual accompaniments to match. In support, Jutes is set to return to Nashville for his largest local headliner to date, Sept. 19 at Eastside Bowl, with an exciting supporting lineup of alt and dark pop singer Mothica and ’90s inspired indie and lo-fi rockers wilt. Tickets are still available right here while they last, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan! Preview the lineup and enter below.
