Formed in 2007 while attending college in Southern California, Saint Motel are a visually-inspired, genre-bending staple of the 2010s indie scene. Though 2012 debut album Voyeur was well-received, it was their 2014 EP My Type, and its earworm of a title track, which first helped the band break out to wider attention, inking a major label deal with Elektra ahead of sophomore LP saintmotelevision, in 2016, spawning further popular hits like “Sweet Talk.” In the near-decade since, the band have remained prolific and popular, innovating with immersive visuals (they notably made the world’s first VR album with videos accompanying saintmotelevision), and exploring new sonic realms with third LP The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (initially releases as two EPs), in 2021, and not one, but two new full-lengths this year: Saint Motel & the Symphony in the Sky, a more expansive, ambitious take on their signature orchestral indie pop stylings, and brand new effort Afterglow, a distinct but complimentary LP which feels like a darker half to Symphony.
Renowned for their immersive and cinematic live show, which has landed them at numerous major fests, on stages around the globe, and on tour with groups like Weezer, Arctic Monkeys, and Panic! at the Disco, Saint Motel have played a couple of memorable Nashville shows over the years. Their latest, on Nov. 1 might be the most special yet though, as they’re performing underground at The Caverns in nearby Pelham, along with Chicago alt/indie pop up and comer adan diaz! We can’t think of a vibier spot to see Saint Motel in action, and tickets are still available right here while they last!
