Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy Brings ‘Twilight Override’ Tour to The Caverns, Tonight, Oct. 29 with Liam Kazar

Best known for fronting famed Chicago alt rock outfit Wilco for the past 31 years (and, before that, his stint in Uncle Tupelo), Jeff Tweedy is, without a doubt, one of the most celebrated and accomplished musicians in the modern alternative, indie, folk, and alt country scene. Though, over the years, Jeff’s been no stranger to collaboration, side projects, and non-musical creative endeavors, only since the late 2010s has he fully embraced a solo career in addition to his primary gig with Wilco. Following side project called Tweedy, a duo with his son Spencer, with whom he released a full-length in 2014, the elder Tweedy took it upon himself to release an acoustic album of reimagined tunes by Wilco and other side projects, called Together at Last, which arrived in 2017. Then, in 2018, shortly after the release of his memoir, Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back), Jeff dropped his first-ever solo release comprised of all-new material, Warm, which he recorded at legendary Chicago studio The Loft, with a companion record, Warmer, debuting the following year on Record Store Day. Capping off a prolific early tear, Tweedy released a third solo album in as many years in 2020, called Love Is King, recorded during Covid lockdown after tour plans with Wilco were halted.

Tweedy has remained quite prolific in other endeavors throughout the first half of the 2020s, releasing two more books, two albums and an EP with Wilco, and continuing to tour with the band, including a stop at The Pinnacle back in the spring. And though five years passed between Love Is King and his latest solo effort, last month’s Twilight Override, Jeff clearly put a huge amount of time and effort into its creation. A 30-track triple album, featuring a full backing band and contributions from his sons Spencer and Sammy, Twilight Override is the best, boldest, and most essential Jeff Tweedy solo album to date, informed by the sociopolitical reality of the last several years. In support, Tweedy is currently on the road with a full band, on a run which brings him to The Caverns in nearby Pelham tonight, Oct. 29, along with singer-songwriter Liam Kazar. Set to be taped for The Caverns Sessions on PBS, this tickets for this unique experience are still available right here! As we feel inclined to mention any time we tell you about a show at The Caverns, this venue is one of the most unparalleled concert experiences you can have anywhere, hosting performances underground in a literal cave , and we think it’s always worth the trek from Nashville anytime an artist we love is on the calendar.

Jeff Tweedy and Liam Kazar will perform Wednesday, Oct. 29 at The Caverns in Pelham, TN. The show is all ages, begins at 8 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.), and tickets and camping passes are available to purchase here.
