Millennial pop rock superstars the Jonas Brothers‘ career could roughly be divided into two distinct chapters: the first eight or so years they spent as a Disney-backed, young, wholesome, and extremely radio friendly pop rock and pop punk band, and the past seven years since their reunion, following a six-year split, where the now 30-somethings have made much more mature, sophisticated, and contemporary pop for adults. That’s not to say they’ve forgotten their roots though- formed in 2005 in New Jersey, the JoBros have spent two decades now making wildly successful music both together and individually, and on their latest tour, Jonas20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour, they’re both celebrating a new album, Greetings from Your Hometown, as well as performing a career-spanning and nostalgic setlist, with cuts from most every era, as well as covers from their solo and side projects.
Made up of brothers Kevin, Joe, and Nick, the trio formed while still in their teens, and generated some early buzz for their 2006 debut, It’s About Time, before linking up with Disney, signing to Hollywood Records, and becoming global sensations with the following year’s eponymous Jonas Brothers. The band would go on to appear in film and TV shows, including their own Disney series Jonas and the Camp Rock film series, earn a Grammy nomination among other honors, and tour the world with some of the biggest names in pop, maturing their sound and setting chart-topping milestones with subsequent releases Little Bit Longer, in 2008, and Lines, Vines and Trying Times, in 2009. At the turn of the 2010s, Nick and Joe had branched off to make solo music (Nick with Nick Jonas & the Administration, and later under his own name, and Joe under his own name, then with dance pop group DNCE), and after a canceled album and tour plans, the Jonas Brothers officially disband in 2013.
Blood proved stronger than artistic disagreements though, and by the end of the 2010s, the brothers were plotting a comeback, officially returning in 2019 with their first album in a decade, Happiness Begins, marking a drastically more mature musical shift, and entering the charts at number one with viral hit “Sucker.” In the years since, and despite some time lost due to the pandemic, the Jonas Brothers have been going strong, dropping two more albums- 2023’s soft pop and yacht rock inspired The Album, and the aforementioned latest pop effort, Greetings from Your Hometown– and embarking on several large tours. The band have even reconnected with their Disney roots, announcing A Very Jonas Christmas Movie set to arrive this holiday season on Disney+, and confirming that a Camp Rock 3 is in development.
The JoBros have already played Nashville an impressive five times since their reunion, but they clearly love it here, as they’re set to hit Music City once more on Oct. 14, this time with pop punk faves The All-American Rejects in support (expect a special guest to show up as well, if the rest of the tour has been any indication). Limited tickets are still available here, but we’re thrilled to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan; preview the lineup and enter below!
